Two Up But Lost
Two Late Goals
AFC Sudbury Ladies were looking for back to back wins after their away win at Lowestoft last week when they welcomed AFC Dunstable to King’s Marsh.
There was a minutes silence before the game in memory of Emma Holloway.
Dunstable nearly took the lead after ten minutes when a header was cleared off the line by Rebekah Henderson.
Sudbury had a lucky escape after fifteen minutes when another goal bound effort was cleared off the line.
The home side were awarded a penalty two minutes before halftime, Stacey Teager (pictured) took it and fired home.
AFC went two goals up on five minutes after the break when a Sophie Jeffery shot took a deflection and ended up in the net. Dunstable pulled a goal back when a defensive error let them in.
Sudbury had further chances to increase their lead with four one on ones with the Dunstable keeper all were saved.
The hosts would rue these missed chances as the visitors equalised on ten minutes before the end and then scored the winner with two minutes of the game left.
Next Sunday the Ladies travel to top of the table Billericay Town.
