Out Of Cup
The Ladies travelled to Enfield Town in the SSE Women's FA Cup in the 3rd Qualifying Round.
The home side E play one league higher than Sudbury so a good test for the Ladies.
Injuries took there toll again with Megan Partridge, Rebekah Henderson, Emma Squirell, Laura Wheeler and Georgia Lindon out injured and Phoebe Guiver on holiday. Laura Guyon was available after missing last week's win against Brentwood and Sophie Jeffery returned from Hallam University for the game.
Enfield made a quick start and were unlucky when the hit the bar after 10 minutes. Sudbury nearly took the lead when Mia Etheridge rolled a shot agonisingly past the post.
The host struck the bar again and Sudbury went close through Stacey Teager.
There was however more bad news for AFC as after fifteen minutes when Charley Roach had to came off injured to be replaced by coach Natalie Golding.
Enfield scored in the last minute of half time when a break up of play in the centre circle saw them break away to score.
Sudbury had more of the play in the second half and again nearly equalised from a free kick outside the box which Golding fired in low and the keeper saved smartly to her right.
Try as the might the visitors could not get an equaliser and the Town Ladies went through to the next round.
There was not that much between both teams and the AFC Ladies should be encouraged by this.
