Five Goals And Clean Sheet
Two young reserve teams took to the pitch on a chilly afternoon at the King’s Marsh Stadium.
Both teams looked to move the ball quickly on the 3G surface, Needham taking more possession in the opening fifteen minutes. AFC began to move the ball more purposefully creating chances, and taking the lead when the ball fell to Mekhi McKenzie who slammed the ball home from close range.
The second goal came just before half time when a quick free-kick from Milo Grimes found Kane Munday on the left flank and he delivered a perfect cross for Mekhi McKenzie to put his second away.
Half time: AFC Sudbury Reserves 2 Needham Market Reserves 0
The second half saw AFC dominate the ball again and create more chances. Substitute Panashe Mundawarara (pictured) flicked the ball on from a long ball which allowed Rhys Henry through to calmly place home to put the hosts 3-0 up.
Minutes later, Mundawarara was at the heart of the attack scoring by slamming home from his weaker left side.
The young Needham side continued to try and play football hitting the bar from a nice move, however it was AFC who scored the fifth and final goal when a cross fell to substitute Mikey Carrigan three yards out and for him to volley it home.
