A very welcome three points gleaned from their Boxing Day visit to Mildenhall Town was a nice tonic for Manager Mark Morsley who had to miss the game due to ill health.
Assistant Manager Lee Norfolk and Goalkeeping Coach David Hunt took charge of the side that secured victory via a solitary fourth minute goal coming from a free kick scored by Captain Joe Whight (pictured).
The team selected by the Manager saw some changes from the one that lost at home to Dereham Town. New loan signing goalkeeper Jake Jessup had the number one jersey, while Sam Mills returned at full back. Ollie Peter was back in midfield while Tom Macock started up front.
It was certainly not the greatest game but the three points took AFC up two places up the Bostik North table to fifteenth spot.
Meanwhile at King’s Marsh AFC Reserves lost to their counterparts from Braintree Town. Going down 2-1 The AFC goalscorer was Milo Downey and good to see Joe Wright getting some much needed time on the pitch after his injury problems of late.
