This was an exciting and very good performance by AFC as they defeated previously unbeaten Heybridge Swifts, coming twice from behind to take all three points and climb three places up the Bostik North table.
The visitors with five ex-AFC players in their side took the lead on the half hour mark when the ball was put away from close range by Luque. That was the score at the interval and it took a penalty sixty-four minutes into the game for AFC to draw level. Sam Clarke scoring the spot kick.
Luque got his second of the game from a well taken free kick, the ball going in off the post to beat Paul Walker. The home side responded well and Louis Blake (pictured) broke his goalscoring duck by netting from close range to even the game up with eighteen minutes left.
On eighty-five minutes AFC got the winning goal with Adam Mills blasting home from the edge of the box. Mills however blotted his copy book when having been earlier booked for a rash trip he committed another foul and was given a second yellow and thus a red card.
Three welcome points from a good performance as AFC take to the road on Tuesday to play Soham Town Rangers.
AFC Reserves won 2-0 away to March Town United and AFC's other Reserve side drew 2-2 away to Waltham Abbey Reserves.
