The three points were denied to AFC at the very death of the game when the hosts netted a goal they perhaps did not deserve. It came a minute or so after Tyler French had been sent off for two bookable offences. AFC had taken a sixth minute lead through Jamie Eaton-Collins (pictured) and missed a penalty a few minutes later when Joe whight had his spot kick saved.
The game saw the debut of another Academy player in central defender Milo Grimes, while another Panashe Mundawarara was on the substitutes bench but did not get on.
The point gained lifts AFC up one place in the Bostik North table to sixteenth.
They are next in action on Saturday when Tilbury visit King's Marsh.
AFC Reserves in the Essex Senior Reserve League were defeated 3-4 by Stansted Reserves.
