Goal At The Death

AFC Sudbury Reserves were well prepared in very windy conditions ahead of their home game with Downham Market.

The young AFC side dominated the game early on, with Tom Maycock and Rhys Henry delivering excellent balls into the box, however, the boys struggled to hit the back of the net.

On the 35 minute mark, Mekhi McKenzie (pictured) fired home after some great link up play from the yellows to send the side into the interval a goal up.

In the second half the yellows kept the pressure on and tested the Downham keeper on a number of occasions. The home were struggling to go even further ahead due to some great saves and missed opportunities.

In the last five minutes of the game Downham threw everything forward, and with one minute to go, the ball fell to their player in the box and he took his chance well.

The Sudbury boys were unlucky not to pick up all three points after a battling performance.

Starting XI- Luca Collins, Baris Altintop, Milo Grimes (C), Joe Grimwood, Rhys Henry, Tom Maycock, Danny Bloomfield, Mikey Carrigan, Isaac Skubich, Callum Vincent, Mekhi McKenzie.

Subs- Oliver Gravett (65) Ben Hammett (70) Aaron Pengelly (75) Kane Munday.
