10.02.08 - Reed Hall Sentinals 5 v 2 AFC

Result was . Goals from Brandon Reynolds and Jack Steed. Everyone played a good match with a lot of great team work. Result did not reflect how they played and were unlucky not to put a few more in the back of the net. Man of the match went to Ben Sparkes.

 

25.11.07 - AFC Sudbury Under 14's v Earls Colne

 

AFC Sudbury Under 14's played at home V Earls Colne and won 2 - 1.


AFC played with a 4-5-1 formation and took the lead with the ball being played through to Brandon Reynolds who turned 1 huge centre back, then turned the other before swivelling and firing home an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner.

Earls Colne equalised with an amazing 40 yard shot from Luke Kirby which gave home keeper Jason Dodd no chance.

Just before half-time AFC took the lead again with another great goal, man of the match Nathan Cooper ran though but was forced wide by the opposition keeper, however he cleverly managed to lob the ball over the giant keeper into the top right hand corner of the net.

The second half was fairly even, with both sides having few chances to score.


FINAL SCORE: AFC Sudbury Under 14's - 2 V 1 Earls Colne.

 

14.10.07 - Marks Tey v AFC Sudbury Under 14's

AFC Under 14's played away at Marks Tey and only fielding 10 players, again AFC showed their solid determination and commitment to the game with a hard won victory in a well played game against Marks Tey.

All the boys played well with man of the match going to Ben Sparkes for playing well in midfield and defence.

Goals scored by Nathan Cooper and Brandon Reynolds 2, whose placed strike in the left corner must be one of the goals of the season so far.


Final score Marks Tey: 2 - AFC Sudbury Under 14's: 3.

AFC Sudbury Under 14's who are a new team this season, came back from a bad defeat against The Crusaders with an excellent display at home against Hedingham Hawks.

All the AFC players played their hearts out and beat Hedingham 8 - 1 with great goals scored by: Nathan Cooper 3, Jack Steed 1, Ben Sparkes 1, Jordan Elliott 1, Brandon Reynolds 2. The man of the match award went to Nathan Cooper.


AFC Sudbury's defence and midfield dominated and controlled the game and played with a lot of guts and strength to make it a very well earned win, well done lads.

 

16th September 2007 - Long Melford Colts Under 14's 5 v AFC Sudbury Under 14's 0

The Under 14's played away at local rivals Long Melford Colts and started the match with just 9 players due to injuries/unavailability/illness.

Scott Edwards played in goal as emergency keeper, Kieran White turned up after 15 minutes and immediately entered the fray and AFC done well to hold Melford to just 1 goal at half-time.

However the second half didn't get any better with the emergency keeper getting injured and unable to continue so AFC were down to 9 players again and succumbed to 4 second half goals - final score Long Melford Colts Under 14's 5 V AFC Sudbury Under 14's nil.
