AFC Sudbury Under 10's - Match Report
23/09/2007 - AFC Sudbury Reds U10s 1 Vs Stanway Villa Reds U10s 0
The game was fought out by two evenly matched teams in blustery conditions.
Sudbury started well when Matt Float had a good snap shot well saved and Kieran Marshall also went close with a good effort from the left wing.
Stanway applied pressure and it took good defensive tackles from Fred Standley, Ashley Dodds and 3 good saves from Lee Thurlow to keep Stanway out.
Lewis Kindell flashed a shot just wide in the closing seconds of the first half.
Sudbury started the second half well and were awarded a penalty when a shot from man of the match Tommy Malone was handled inside the box and Matthew Float calmly sent the keeper the wrong way to give AFC the lead.
Debutant Daniel Parrett & William Spurgeon-Mills run their socks off to deny Stanway space in midfield and there was a collective sigh of relief from the home fans when the final whistle blew.
AFC Sudbury Reds notch up their first win of the season at home.
