AFC Sudbury Under 10's - Match Report
10.02.08 - AFC Sudbury Reds U10s 1 vs 3 Halstead Town FC
The visitors started their game strongly that gave the home side the run around showing good passing skills taking initial lead early on (0-1) and extending it further within a matter of minutes (0-2), Halstead’s exceptionally tall striker scoring the first and making the second. Eventually, AFC Sudbury fought back with stronger tackles being made by Fred Standley (Man of the Match) and team midfielder, Daniel Parrott. Lee Thurlow also made numerous crucial tackles in defence. Bradley Young’s had to contend with an extremely quick Halstead midfield attacking on the left, so was unable to make his usual runs at goal. In the second half, Sudbury came back more into the game, making concerted team effort to reduce the lead, Daniel Parrott, shooting just wide using his `right` foot. Jamie Cowley played excellent throughout game constantly fighting for the ball but could not convert any final chances. Fred Standley provided an excellent through ball to forward Lewis Kindell to run at goal but keeper saved the shot. Halstead quickly counter attacked and from the quick break outnumbered defence to increase their lead (0-3). In the latter stages, Daniel Parrott cleared the ball off the line (twice!) and Harrison Critall made a couple of superb saves. In the final minutes of the game, Sudbury began to dominate and Lewis Kindell combined well with Jamie C to score a parried Cowley shot driven in from close range (1-3).
