AFC Sudbury Under 10's - Match Report

07.10.07 - Lexden Saints (Reds) vs. AFC Sudbury (Reds) U10’s

The Reds played like their counterparts AFC Blues and controlled the game from the whistle. Captain Tommy Malone showing some good skills & composure in the midfield with some impressive attacking football from Parents nominated Man of the Match Daniel Parrett, ably supported by Jamie Cowley and William Spurgeon-Mills in attack.

William full of energy and never seemed to stop running. Daniel had a number of good runs down the left flank to create a number of chances, which all went unconverted in the first half.

In the second half the game continued in the same way with AFC controlling the ball and good movement from the whole team. After some good play from Matthew Float the home keeper parried his shot in to the path of Daniel who calmly hammered the ball into the net with a well taken left foot drive.

Lexden started to exert some pressure on the AFC goal, but some good defensive work by Fred Standley, AFC kept the home team at bay.

After some good chasing and passing through the midfield, Sudbury set up their second chance, the ball being forced over the line by Matthew Float with a cheeky close range header.

Robert Thackeray-King had a good first game proper, covering a defensive role in the first half and keeper duties in the second.

AFC ended the game as they began it, in control and some good football played by the whole team, the game ending 0-2.
