AFC Sudbury Under 10's - Match Report

23/09/2007 - AFC Sudbury Blues U10s 1 Vs Stanway Villa U10s 4

AFC were under pressure from the start, with a well organised Stanway Villa team.

Early pressure against the home side resulted in an early goal. A very well taken left foot shot hitting the back of the net. 0-1.

AFC were awarded a free kick, and a good passing move between the players resulted in Patrick Cooper just shooting wide.

AFC were pushing for the equaliser, but a breakaway from the opposition resulted in the second goal to the away team.

Stanway then continued to control the game and AFC could not keep the ball and kept on giving it away to the opposition.

In latter stages of first half AFC Sudbury started to pull their game together resulting in a goal for the home team scored by Evan Gartland, 1-2.

Starting to play some good football, with good strong driving runs from the midfield trio of Seb Lingard, Chris Lewis and Liam O,Mara, but the lack of fire power up front was beginning to tell.

Stanway won a corner just on half time and some poor defensive work lead to the visitors scoring their 3rd.

The second half started off where the first half ended with consistent pressure from the away team. A number of good saves from keeper Max Horkan kept the visitors at bay.

The pressure had to tell and from a resulting free kick, a well taken long range drive beat the keeper to put the visitors 4 up. Stanway dominated the game and ended up deserved winners 1-4.

The young Blues still recovering from last weeks game!
