AFC Sudbury Under 10's - Match Report
17.02.08 - Cornard Dynamos FC 2 vs 2 AFC Sudbury Blues U10s
A shocking start for AFC Sudbury but unlucky not to take win in the end - still on course for a top 3 league placing. Dynamos momentum running they attacked strongly once again and scored another within a matter on minutes (2-0). Although Dynamos were always dangerous in quick counter attacks, especially Jordan Roberts who was dynamic throughout, AFC Sudbury dominated play with a strong midfield and defence line, Liam O,Mara, Tommy Malone & Warrick Smith all having particularly good games. Tommy hitting the post on one attempt. With a first half substitution, Striker, Evan Gartland (M.O.T.M) came on to combine well with Patrick Cooper scoring Sudbury’s first at close range with a cheeky nutmeg! (2-1). In the second half, Sudbury kept up the pressure and from a well taken corner, Kieran Marshall on the far post scored another one of his super half volleys to equalize (2-2). Later, Kieran came close again to almost getting the winner, hitting the side netting from a Tommy Malone through pass. In the final minutes of the game, Dynamos caught Sudbury on another quick counter attack skimming the bar and in the final seconds, Keeper, Max Horkan saved the day by making a superb one on one save which kept Sudbury’s chances of top 3 placing alive. Overall, a superb game of youth football played to an extremely high standard for Sunday league by all players on both sides and credit to the home side for fairness and sportsmanship. A fair result. |
