The Management Team


Mark Morsley

A previous manager at the club between 2006 and the end of the 2007/08 season leading the club to the Isthmian League play off finals. He previously managed Needham Market successfully before going to Brantham Athletic and then Harwich and then back to Needham. He left to take over at Leiston where again he had success before going once again to take over the reigns at Needham. This period was another one of success before taking a backroom position with them. He became manager of AFC once again on 2nd October 2017.

Assistant Manager

Lee Norfolk

He was previously a player with club between 1999 and 2005 playing in three FA Vase Finals for the club. He started out with Ipswich Town, and then King’s Lynn, Cambridge City, North Shore United and Bishops Stortford before joining Sudbury Wanderers. After leaving AFC he played for a number of local clubs until 2010 when he began his coaching career with Leiston. He left for Needham Market in 2013 to link up with AFC Manager Mark Morsley once again. He stayed until the end of the 2014/15 season as his work at the Ipswich Town Academy increased. At the start of the 2017/18 season he became head coach of Stowmarket Town before joining AFC on 2nd October 2017.

Head Coach

Paul Skingley

A UEFA B badge holder he was previously with AFC a coach from the start of season 2006/07 and remained until beginning of May 2008 when he was appointed head coach at Brantham Athletic. He had been at East Bergholt, Whitton United and then joining the current AFC Manager Mark Morsley at Needham Market. He returned to Brantham and continued with them in various roles with them until joining AFC as Head Coach on 2nd October 2017.

Goalkeeping Coach

David Hunt
A very experienced keeper coach he re-joined AFC after several years away to resume his association with the current manager.

Sports Therapist

Brian Swift
He joined as the club’s Head Sports Injury Therapist at the start of the 2014/15 season.
A well-respected man in medical terms throughout Suffolk and Essex and has considerable experience of coaching and managing. He had thirteen seasons with the Colchester United Centre of Excellence, also ten seasons at the Colne Football Academy.
He is currently a FA Medical Tutor.


Max Booth

A striker with Bostik Premier League experience he joined the club on a month's loan on 29th October from Needham Market, and on 27th November signed a permanent contract with AFC.

Jake Colclough

A defender/midfielder he made his debut in November 2017 and scored in his second game. He is another successful product of the AFC Academy.

Will Crisell

A defender he started off with Colchester United before joining the Needham Market Academy and progressed to their first team playing Bostik Premier football. At the start of the 2017/18 season he went on loan with Brantham Athletic before joining AFC on 19th October.

Darryl Coakley

An experienced defender who has started at Ipswich Town then went to Cambridge United. He joined Bury Town before Mildenhall Town then had three successful seasons with Needham Market winning promotion to the Bostik Premier League and won a Suffolk Premier Cup winners medal with them. Joined AFC at the end of January 2018.

Luca Collins

A confident young goalkeeper in his second year at AFC with a bright future ahead.
Good hands and feet, a consistent performer.

Tom Dettmar

A midfield player and another product of the AFC Academy, he made his debut for the club in October 2017. Has a promising future.

Tyler French

An 18 year-old defender, comfortable on both sides or centrally, he is a product of the AFC Academy, having previously been with both Long Melford and Hadleigh United.
Captained the club's Under 18's side last term as they collected three trophies. His performances have attracted the attentions of several Premier and English Football League clubs.

Milo Grimes

Another product of the AFC Academy, a central defender who made his debut at the start of November 2017.

Billy Holland

A young left-footed, fast attacking midfield man, he started with Ipswich Wanderers and was there for two seasons before joining Needham Market in January 2016. He joined AFC on 9th October 2017.

Ryan Horne

An attacking midfielder and a former Cambridge United player, he had a loan spell with AFC in 2014. He left Cambridge left to play for Soham Town Rangers for the 2016/17 season becoming their Player of the Year. In July 2017 he signed for St Neots Town before returning to AFC on 20th December 2017.

Ben Hunter

A seventeen year old, he is an AFC Academy scholar who started with Woodbridge Town. A midfielder with bags of energy, made his full debut on 17th October.

Phil Kelly

An experienced striker, he signed for AFC on 9th January from Brightlingsea Regent where he spent eight season and made 271 appearances and scored 103 goals.

Tom Maycock

A sixteen year-old forward, his performances for the club's youth and reserve sides saw him make his first team debut as a substitute on 11th November. An AFC Academy product.

Mekhi McKenzie

A strong tall young attacker, he joined the AFC Academy/Reserve /U21's set up late in the 2016/17 season from Brightlingsea Regent.He made two first team appearances last season. He won three medals as the Under 18 side completed a successful season. He signed a two-year deal with the club in May 2017.

Ian Miller

A vastly experienced central defender, he started his career with Bury Town before joining Ipswich Town and then Darlington. He also played for Grimsby Town and Cambridge United professionally. He played for Braintree Town and Needham Market before joining Cambridge City from where he joined AFC in December 2017.

Sam Mills

An attacking full back, he attended the AFC Academy and progressed through the youth and reserve sides. He made his first team debut in January 2017 from the substitute bench and his full debut on 7th October.

Panashe Mundawarara

A fast running wide player, only sixteen years of age he made his first team debut as a substitute on 11th November 2017. He is an AFC Academy youngster.

Ollie Peters

A midfielder, he started with Hadleigh United, now in his third year at AFC, a versatile player who is comfortable playing anywhere across the midfield or as a striker. Always covers a lot of ground, good touch and drives forward well.

Callum Watson

A young forward from the AFC Academy, he made two brief substitute appearances before scoring on his full debut on 7th October 2017.

Paul Walker

A goalkeeper signed this season, having been with Haverhill Borough from January 2017. He has played professional with Northampton Town, also with Corby Town and Kettering Town. He earned International recognition with the Welsh Under 17's.

Joe Whight

A central defender he started Ipswich Town before joining Bury Town. He played there for a couple of seasons before he signed for Needham Market City in February 2015. where he played until joining AFC on 11th October 2017.

Joe Wright

An nineteen-year old midfielder, he joined the AFC Academy in 2015/16 season having being with Colchester United, he played for the Under 18's and AFC Reserves. During the 2016/17 season he made his first team debut as well as playing for the successful Under 18's side picking up three trophies. He signed a one-year deal with the club in May 2017.

Joe Whight

Club Captain, a left footed defender and former Ipswich Town man, when he left them he went Bury Town and then Needham Market before signing for AFC on 8th October 2017.
