AFC are on their pre-season travels once again as they go the short distance to Rosemary Lane to take on Halstead Town. The game is part of the deal that brought central defender Tom Devaux to The MEL Group Stadium in November 2010.

Tom initially signed on loan that was later extended before signing permanently for AFC on 3rd February 2011, and he played until the end of the 2010/11 season. He returned at the start of the 2011/12 season but sustained a groin injury that required surgery. This was done in October 2011, but there was one more appearance before in January 2012 he went to Stanway Rovers. This was to start with a loan period but on it later became a permanent move. He stayed with Stanway until the end of the 2011/12 season. On 9th July 2012 he signed for Witham Town.

AFC are likely to put out a strong side as they continue to put together a squad that the management want to be challenging at the top of the Ryman North table.
