June 8, 2012 Ware Manager Goes
Stuart Nethercott has resigned as manager of Ware in the wake of a change of chairman at the club’s AGM.
Nethercott resigned late on Thursday evening, after receiving the news that chairman Mick Clarke had been deposed. Clarke has been replaced by Mike Varney, a former Tottenham Hotspur physio who was previously involved with Ware, and had a short spell as chairman of Hertford Town.
Nethercott, who resigned a year and two days after taking charge at the club, said: “I’m sad to be leaving Ware but I felt I had no option after the changes behind the scenes at the club.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and I want to thank the players who stayed loyal to me, as well as my assistant Gary Allan and Colin and Kevin from my coaching staff.
“I am now assessing my options as I am keen to take another job in management.”
