May 18, 2012 Fallon Would Like Naisbitt

Steve Fallon is thinking big as he aims to make Soham Town Rangers a force to be reckoned with next season.

The manager and his assistant Ian Hart steered the Greens to safety in Ryman League Division One North, having taken over from Andy Furnell near the end of the campaign.

Fallon has enquired whether Danny Naisbitt, who he signed for Histon from Cambridge City five years ago, would consider dropping three levels following his departure from Cambridge United, though he expects the goalkeeper to find a club higher up the pyramid.

And the boss is determined to improve his squad and make them genuine challengers for promotion to the Premier Division.

“We know Danny and he’s a good keeper, but it would take an awful lot for him to do that,” said Fallon.

“He’s got his own business and our little thing would be if he wanted to concentrate on his business and play some part-time football then we might have a chance. I’m sure with his record he’ll be playing somewhere, but you never know if you don’t ask.

“Most that were here towards the end of the season want to come again next year and give it a go. We need to strengthen and we’re looking at what we can do.

“You’ve got to aim for the top and always be ambitious. There are players at levels below that can push on, so we’ve got to find the right blend and the right attitude.”
