To mark the end of a year-long fundraising campaign in support of the Sudbury Resource Centre The Spirit of Sudbury party is being held at AFC Sudbury’s state-of-the-art MEL Group Stadium.

The event will feature two, possibly three, live music acts, and a fundraising auction with items donated from a host of celebrities, dignitaries and local businesses. There will also be buffet and a fully-stocked bar.

As you may well know The Spirit of Sudbury Campaign was launched in March 2011 with the aim of raising £10,000 for the resource centre. The campaign has been a huge success and has been supported by many local businesses, organizations and individuals in the town.

However, to ensure we reach the target amount we have arranged this party as a final fundraising event and we sincerely hope you can make one final effort to support the campaign.

Sudbury Resource Centre provides support for adults with learning disabilities, meeting their support and social needs in a safe and stimulating environment. The work carried out by the adults attending the centre provides enormous benefits to the Sudbury community. The recycling project supports companies in reducing their waste going into landfill whilst reducing their costs for large bins and containers on their sites. The Jolly Gardeners sells plants, hanging baskets, planters, vouchers and provides a garden maintenance service. The assembly and packing service already works with local companies, meeting their deadlines and providing a premier service. The centre’s catering offers tailor made buffets and a frozen meal service to meet the needs of businesses and the wider local community.

The centre provides an opportunity for disadvantaged people who live locally to develop their knowledge, skills and social interaction and to enable them to work with and feel part of the community that they live in. However, in order to survive in the long term it needs constant financial support and relies heavily on fundraising activities and this is the very reason why the Spirit of Sudbury Campaign was launched and we thank you kindly for all your support.
