January 18, 2012 Two Suffolk Sides Through Can AFC Make It Three?
Two Suffolk clubs, one from the North and one from the West, Lowestoft Town and Bury Town, booked their places in the Alan Boon Cup semi-finals.
The Trawlerboys found themselves 2-0 down at half-time in their home game against Canvey. Jason Hallett opened the scoring in the 35th minute and Leon Gordon added another at the end of the half.
Rob Eagle started the comeback seven minutes after the break, Jamie Forshaw equalised midway through the half and Lubo Guentchev struck with 12 minutes left to give Lowestoft a 3-2 victory.
John Sands made Bury’s long trek to Hastings worthwhile with both goals in a 2-0 success. They came after 67 and 78 minutes.
